Online Ordering: Some helpful tips

We are delighted to welcome you to our revolutionary online ordering system.  Before you proceed, we would ask you to spare a few minutes to consider the following points.
NB: taking a bit of time out at this stage could save you time, money and worry down the line!

Carriage:

Please remember to add the cost of carriage to your order if not collecting from us here in Ruthin.

LOCAL deliveries (LL post code area) up to 20kg please add £7.50 + vat

NATIONAL deliveries up to 20kg to one UK mainland address, excluding the Scottish Highlands and Islands, please add £12.50 + vat.

As a rough guide, 20 kilos is about the weight of just over 2,000 A4 letterheads or A4 leaflets so this weight band covers the majority of the standard items listed here on our e-commerce site.

Approving your work – the proofing process:

Online proofs:

Online proofs are easily available – just click on any of the Acrobat icons to bring an instant on line proof to your screen.  NB: Checking items on screen is difficult at the best of times so we recommend that you print off a hard copy on your desk top printer for more effective proof reading.

Hard copy proofs:

If you would like to receive an accurately calibrated hard copy proof from us before going to press, simply click on the PROOF icon in the Choose Job Type screen, select the proof sub type and upload your file.  It is important to tell us what paper or board type and weight you wish to use, as we will provide your proof on that particular stock.  NB: Proofs printed on stock other than your intended choice for the finished job will produce quite different results.

Every effort is made to dispatch proofs via 1st Class Post on the day they are submitted and you should receive hard copy proofs in the post within 24 to 48 hours, Royal Mail permitting.  If you are entirely happy that the proof work matches your expectations, simply sign your proof slip and return to us in the envelope provided.  You can then upload your job in the normal way along with a note entered into the “Add Note” facility stating that your hard copy proof is being returned to us.  This note is important, as we will hold your work in the print queue until your signed proof has been received.

Colour integrity:

Many years’ experience of handling customer’s work supplied on disk has taught us that in the vast majority of cases screens or monitors and desktop printers are not calibrated.  When work has been designed around what the designer sees on screen, (and an un-calibrated one at that) the final output from our calibrated digital presses can be notably adrift of what was intended.  Our advice is to stick to named CMYK Pantone colours at the design stage.  Or, if you are still uncertain, you can request a hard copy proof before going to press – see “Proofs” above for details.

Credit Card Payment

For customers without a credit account we can take payment via debit or credit cards.  Please leave us a contact number when uploading your job and we will phone you to take your card details.  Payment will be processed on the day your job is despatched.
